PASTEL The beautiful Kanawha River flows past my home town in West Virginia and empties into the Ohio River just thirteen miles further on. I photographed this scene one perfect fall day and attempted to paint it three times before finally capturing the colors and the feeling of this late afternoon along the Kanawha.
